3.1.2008  Whiting Helps Keep Nuclear Standards Up to Date
Thanks to recent efforts at Whiting Corporation, the first major revision of the Seismic Design Requirements specified in the ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) NOG-1 Standard, “Rules for Construction of Overhead and Gantry Cranes”, has been completed. The NOG-1 Standard, which was first approved in 1983, is one of two standards controlled by the ASME Standards Committee on Cranes for Nuclear Facilities (CNF).

At the end of January, Whiting Corporation and Whiting Services, Inc., a sister company of Whiting for equipment service, successfully completed a Nuclear Procurement Issues Committee (NUPIC) audit.

Whiting Corporation, now offers a series of engineered below the hook lifting devices for the rail transportation industry. In addition to Whiting's capability to engineer and build custom equipment for specific lifting applications, the company's new product line includes locomotive tongs for the gripping of traction motors in addition to wheel and motor combination lifting tongs.
8.10.2005  Whiting Introduces Electro-Mechanical Bus Lift System
After years of Product Research and Engineering Development, Whiting Corporation will introduce an Electro-Mechanical Bus Lift System at the APTA International Public Transportation Expo 2005 in Dallas on September 26-28. This new system is ideal for customers considering either the installation of new bus lift equipment or the replacement of existing hydraulic bus lift systems.
5.6.2005  Whiting Completes Front End Kaizen Training
At the end of April, Whiting Corporation completed a series of training sessions related to the front end Kaizen process. The cross functional participants were trained in such techniques as: need survey and assessment, new developments and innovations in process design techniques, resource planing, and sales tool development.
4.18.2005  Whiting Completes Internal Project Management Training
As part of the customer focus at Whiting Corporation, the company recently completed a series of Project Management workshops relating to the scope and details of the project management process. During the continuous improvement meetings held in Monee, Illinois, emphasis was placed on the identification of the key tools and techniques that are available to the Project Manager.
