PROJECT WINS ‘2006 DESIGN-BUILD PROJECT OF THE YEAR’
Whiting Corporation’s Transportation Project with MTA Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) was recently awarded ‘2006 Design-Build Project of the Year’ by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). Whiting Corporation designed, engineered and delivered:

· Four 40 ton pass thru ‘C’ frame Car Hoists with eight 17 ½ ton Body Supports,
· One 15 ton shallow pit Truck Repair Hoist
· One 12’-0” motor driven with manual option Truck Turntable.

Whiting Corporation provided new equipment including automatic Car Hoists with Articulating Heads for clearance purposes complete with automatic screw lubrication system, equipment pit covers and PLC control systems. The project was at the Arch Street Shop and Yard in Queens, New York.
