Overhead Cranes for Nuclear facilties
Experience plays a key role in designing overhead cranes for the nuclear industry. Three out of four of the current power generating units use at least one Whiting crane. Whiting continues to be the dominant supplier in the nuclear industry today. In addition to all of the crane industry committees, Whiting is a member of the Nuclear Industry Assessment Committee (NIAC), as well as the Nuclear Overhead and Gantry Crane Sub-Committee of ASME (NOG). Whiting is also audited by the Nuclear Procurement Issues Committee (NUPIC0). Whiting pioneered the Polar Crane, the Single Failure Proof Crane and Now the Chain “Hold Hoist”.
Whiting is also certified ISO 9001:2000, 10 CFR Appendix B and ASME NQA-1.
