Whiting Corporation moved into a brand new manufacturing/office facility located in Monee, Illinois in October 2000. Whiting is also a company on the move for other reasons.
• Whiting serves many demanding customers who always keep us on our toes and challenge us to be the best that we can be. Our current customer base includes all major U.S. and Japanese automotive companies, major steel and nonferrous metal producers including Nucor Steel and Alcoa, and most of the major utility companies, railroads and metropolitan transit authorities throughout North America.
• Whiting Corporation has implemented a Quality Management System and is certified in accordance with ISO 9001 and QS-9000 TE Supplement 2nd Edition (a special supplement for tooling & equipment suppliers).
• Whiting began implementing lean manufacturing in 1999 to further improve its workflow and competitiveness. We currently have Continuous Improvement Teams to coordinate improvement efforts. For more info about lean manufacturing see www.lean.org.
• While Whiting is a company with many long-established customer relationships, we will continue to change dynamically in order to ensure that we are at the forefront of meeting our customers' needs.
